Business Owner Janet Miceli, owner of Spike's, began her business as a dog walking service back in 1993. She walked dogs on a daily basis for clients who were at work and in need of their dogs getting midday relief. But when these clients were going out of town and didn't want their dog home alone w/in-home care, there weren't many good options for overnight care in the early 90's. Janet seeked to do something about this! She looked for a precise building in Oak Park that she felt would fit her clients needs; she conferred w/an architect who was knowledgeable of this type of business and w/ veterinarians who advised her what would be the best and safest materials, layouts and resources to use.
